Job Description

The Temporary Camp Aide will provide assistance as they are required to serve as a Teacher Aide for Dusty's Junior University Summer Youth Program. They are responsible to assist the classroom teacher, assist participants with activities and create a safe and positive learning environment. Assist in the C.E. Summer Youth Program classroom as needed. Responsibilities includes supervision for restroom breaks, lunch, arrival, dismissal, classroom activities, assignments and aftercare as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Temporary Camp Worker Teacher Aide will assist in the supervision of the participants of Dusty's Junior University Summer Program.
• Teacher Aides will welcome participants to class, assist the instructor, take participants to and from the restrooms, lunch, classrooms and pickup and departure sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the instructor and/or Operations Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education - High school diploma or post secondary education.
• Experience - Must have experience working and leading children/youth.
• Additional relevant education may replace experience requirement.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills. ​
• May not be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding. Excellent organization skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Other Information:

• This is a temporary position, subject to funding and/or need.
