Outreach Program Manager



Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of non-credit and for-credit professional adult educational programs and services for the pharmaceutical industry. Working as a member of a cross-functional team, the Outreach Program Manager will primarily be responsible for continuously improving existing programs, identifying new program opportunities, increasing enrollment, and managing all aspects of professional development programming. The Outreach Program Manager will collaborate with campus and external partners, build long-term professional relationships with prospective students and businesses, and manage Continuing Education Unit (CEU) certification for continuing education offerings as appropriate. The candidate will assure compliance with university and external certification requirements for degree and graduate certificate programs. This position may expand to 100% FTE depending upon expertise and division needs.

Responsibilities:

Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
  • 25% Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 10% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 5% Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
  • 10% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
  • 30% Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
  • 5% Instructs continuing education classroom activities and guides learning to align with exisiting curriculum.
  • 15% Researches and selects curriculum content, desings courses, and prepares assessment tools regarding specific programs to align with unit objectives and strategy.

Education:

Preferred
Master's Degree

Qualifications:

More than five years¿ post-degree experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate must possess creativity, strong interpersonal and communication skills, abilities in program and project management, and strong business and financial management skills.

Required Skills:
Comprehension of professional development needs in the pharmaceutical industry.
Proven record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Working expertise with Microsoft Office software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and collaboration software (MS Teams, Zoom, Google Drive, Box)

Preferred Skills:
Adult education experience
Business development experience

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location. Those residing within a reasonable distance of Madison, Wisconsin have the option of performing work onsite.
