OUTREACH PROGRAM MANAGER

Salary:

Minimum $55,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Physics Department is searching for an Outreach Program Manager for the Wonders of Physics and the Ingersoll Physics Museum. This role will develop and evaluate the implementation of curriculum to complement the Wonders of Physics Traveling Show, research science museum best practices and use that knowledge to improve exhibits in the museum, manage the museum docents program, and work with visiting school and other groups. They will also work with campus partners to connect with outreach groups across campus and in the community.

Responsibilities:

Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
  • 30% Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 20% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 10% Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
  • 25% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
  • 15% Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan

Education:

Preferred
Master's Degree in STEM or Education related field

Qualifications:

-Professional experience as a K12 educator, preferred.
-Professional experience in a science museum, required.
-Professional experience in science outreach, required.

Work Type:

Part Time: 50%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
