  • Teaching the co-op related courses each semester and conducting individual career advising meetings with students. Course preparation includes teaching interviewing skills, professional behavior and communication, workplace ethics, as well as leadership skills and self-awareness and emotional intelligence development.

  • The Co-op Coordinator will also maintain contact with students while engaged in their co-op experience and works with students through their post-co-op reflection.

  • The coordinator will be expected to participate in professional development opportunities outside of the University to enhance the reputation of the co-op program and the University.

    Employer Engagement and Partnership Development:

  • The coordinator is expected to develop new and maintain ongoing partnerships with employers in the fields of art, media, and design in order to create co-op and other experiential learning opportunities for students.

  • The coordinator must engage in lifelong learning to develop and maintain a current understanding of the industry, employers, and positions. Activities to support this endeavor include site visits to new and existing employers, outreach to potential new co-op employer partners, and active participation in relevant professional organizations.

  • The coordinator will also partner with relevant stakeholders across the university to ensure effective development, management, implementation, and growth of both domestic and international employer partnerships.

  • The coordinator will work with the CAMD Co-Op team in developing and engaging in a strategic approach to employer engagement and continuous improvement of the Co-Op program.

  • The coordinator must be able to develop strategies to leverage our students expertise and, in doing so, position both the University and the College as a global talent solution provider.

    Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in college student development, counseling, education, or a related Art, Media and Design field is required by the appointment start date, as well as a minimum of three years of professional work experience.

  • Familiarity with technology is essential.
