Position Summary:
The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions serves as a member of the PNCA Admissions Team, performing duties related to territory management, recruitment events, special projects, internal team work, and peer mentoring. The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions represents the University to external constituents including prospective students, families, art educators, counselors, and colleagues, and also works with internal campus constituents including students, faculty, and staff. All job responsibilities will be performed with the primary goal of advancing the University's enrollment and net revenue goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • The Assistant/Associate Director of Admission participates in all admission-related activities including the management of an admissions territory:
    • Successfully manage an assigned territory and execute a travel schedule that is data-driven, creative, and focused on both application generation and yield, including:
      • high school visitations, portfolio days, and portfolio reviews
      • college fairs, workshops, and art educator events
      • management of territory-specific off-campus events
    • Communicate and interact proactively, consistently, genuinely, and in a timely fashion with students and families from their designated territory:
      • to encourage application and participation in the visit program
      • to encourage continued interest throughout the application process
      • to affect yield of admitted students through daily communication strategies
    • Participate as members of the Admissions Committee including:
      • review of student credentials and admission recommendations
      • participation in merit scholarship recommendations
    • Territory managers support the successful execution of on-campus visit programs through participation in:
      • campus tour responsibilities
      • session presentations or moderation of panels during major events
      • preparation for major events​


  • The Assistant/Associate Director is also responsible for contributing to the overall recruitment strategy by specializing in and directing a key recruitment responsibility such as: transfer recruitment, communications, technology development and training, diversity and inclusion recruitment, or alumni and parent engagement.


  • The Assistant/Associate Director will support the growth and success of the Admissions Team by serving as a supervisor for staff at the admission counselor level and as a peer mentor to new employees.


  • The Assistant/Associate Director of Admission will oversee one or more important strategic projects for admissions, and will potentially serve on internal committees.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Extensive travel in the fall; light travel in the spring.
  • Meets or exceeds enrollment goals from designated travel territory.
  • Formulates individual correspondence in coordination with overall communication campaigns.
  • Supports and participates in all associated recruitment initiatives
  • Exercises discretion to safeguard the confidentiality of student, staff and University information.
  • Demonstrates the highest professional demeanor and ethical behavior while representing the University.
  • Remains current in external market conditions.
  • Exercises best admission practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications for Both positions:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; BFA preferred
  • Experience working with transfer students
  • Working knowledge of CRM (Slate preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of art portfolio review process (AICAD preferred)


Required Qualifications for Assistant Director position:
  • 2-4 years of experience in admissions enrollment (art + design preferred)


Required Qualifications for Associate Director position:
  • 5+ years experience in admissions enrollment (art + design preferred)
  • Prior management experience preferred


Typical Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm

Some nights, weekend work required. Several nights and weekends during travel season.

Salary

Assistant Level - $52,000

Associate Level - $67,600
