Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $11,666 - $13,750 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,250 - $20,063 per month

Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The Associate Dean for the Kremen School of Education and Human Development holds a twelve-month administrative position that reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with on-campus and off-campus stakeholders including, the Development Director, Department Chairs, Program Coordinators, and Center Directors on initiatives and issues of importance to the School. Primary responsibilities of the position are in the areas of student services, personnel management, academic planning, assessment and accreditation, and other duties as assigned.

Specific responsibilities include overseeing program planning and development, staff evaluations, school-wide assessment, continuous data-driven improvements, reports, and accreditation as well as representing the School at meetings and events. The Associate Dean serves on the following KSOEHD Committees, including but not limited to: Chairs, Budget, Executive, Coordinating, Development, and Bricks, as well as the Community Council and Alumni Group. The Associate Dean also serves on the Provost's Academic Affairs Leadership Team and is a member of the CSU Deans/Associate Deans group.

  • Lead and work within a faculty governance and union working environment, including the maintenance of policies and procedures of the APM, its by-laws, and within the guidelines of the CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Collaborate on planning strategic initiatives that support the college and university.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to facilitate the resolution of difficult situations, including the ability to handle issues of complex and extreme sensitivity.
  • Monitor programs to ensure compliance with applicable accrediting bodies and all campus, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Education and Experience
  • Has an earned doctorate and holds the rank of Full Professor upon commencement of the position.
  • Served a minimum of one year in the role of a program director, department chair, assistant dean, associate dean, or another position with significant leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in managing grants and contracts, conducting applied research programs(s) and demonstrated success in obtaining extramural funding and working with external constituencies.
