Duties and Responsibilities:

The Office of Student Affairs, at Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking a Student Conduct and Resource Coordinator. This position will report to the Assistant Director for Accountability and Advocacy and will play a key role in providing leadership and direction to all areas of student conduct.

Student Conduct:
  • Serves as a primary hearing officer for non-academic administrative student conduct cases for student and/or student organizations from investigation through adjudication.
  • Coordinates the organization of the AUM hearing committee and confirms the selection of faculty, staff and student representatives to this body; prepares hearing dockets of Reporting Party, Responding Party, and witnesses.
  • Monitors compliance with conduct sanctions and follow-up meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Clery Act, and the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Community Act.
  • Coordinates activities associated with Advocacy and Accountability, and other assigned programs and assists administrators as needed.

Student Support
  • Serve as the primary Case Manager with students who have been identified as potentially a risk of harm to themselves, others, or property.
  • Maintain a system for following up with students who have been referred to campus or community resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community and campus entities which provide services that may be of value to AUM students and/or the Threat Assessment Team
  • Attends and participates in student learning and development initiatives with other campus partners.
  • Presents and participates in university training provided for offices and organizations that regularly interact with the office of Accountability and Advocacy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of applicable University practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Knowledge of the transition needs of first-year and transfer students
  • Ability to speak in public and make presentations

  • Ability to use a computer and relevant software applications

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in work related to student services is required. At least one (1) year of direct experience with student conduct administration is desirable. Experience working in higher education is preferred. Additional education in related field may be substituted for experience.
