Job Summary
The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) encourages applications for a Coordinator, Undergraduate Research Programs! This position assists with the administrative aspects of the undergraduate research programs in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. These programs include the Discovery Learning Apprenticeship (DLA) program, the CU Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (CU SPUR) program, Spring Break for Research and You’re@CU. In addition, this position will assist with any Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site programs that are led by CEAS faculty.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Program Coordination
- Implement program logistics for undergraduate programs listed above in consultation with the Director of Active Learning.
- Supervises the logistics for Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) site programs, including participant travel, room and board, enrichment activities, seminar planning and implementation.
- Works with the CEAS Communications team to build out the website listing all projects for undergraduate research programs. Continually reviews the website to ensure all projects are listed correctly and incorporates updates.
- Works with the CEAS Data Analytics team to build out the application in Qualtrics during each application cycle. Verifies that all projects are advertised correctly under the correct department/program. Works with the CEAS Communications team to get the application sent out to the correct student population for each program during its application cycle.
- Reviews and edits the applications and surveys for faculty and students during each application cycle.
- Sends out solicitation for projects to faculty during each research program cycle.
- Assists with application review for all programs.
- Assists with information sessions on undergraduate research (approximately 2-3 each semester).
- Assists in the execution of annual DLA symposium and with the week-long CU SPUR final presentations.
- Plans meetings and seminars with undergraduate and graduate students involved in CEAS undergraduate research programs. This includes the planning of all logistical details, including securing meeting space and finding meeting times that work for all attendees.
- Communicates effectively with faculty, staff and students about undergraduate research programs in CEAS.
- Assists with the annual mentor recognition lunch, which recognizes outstanding faculty and graduate student mentors who participate in CEAS UG research programs.
- Attends campus and college meetings concerning undergraduate research.
In cooperation with the CEAS Finance team:
- Is responsible for all business applications and transactions associated with undergraduate research programs in CEAS, including purchasing, assisting with travel for REU participants, as well as housing arrangements.
- Sets up graduate mentor scholarship payments.
- Ensures that all undergraduate researchers are set up correctly in the payroll system for each cycle and that their positions are terminated at the conclusion of each research program.
- Responsible for budget reconciliation/reports at the end of each program.
In cooperation with the CEAS Communications team:
- Maintains the CEAS undergraduate research public profile, through websites, printed recruiting materials, and social media (both program-specific and college-wide).
- Employs professional writing and editing skills to website and all marketing materials/public interface to ensure and maintain a high-quality collaborate with national and local constituents.
- Advertises CEAS undergraduate research positions each cycle on website, newsletters, etc.
- Works with the Director on strategic relations material for internal and external partners, as needed.
- Assists with Engineering Launch, as needed.
- Assists with Admitted Student Day, as needed.
- Attends classroom presentations to promote undergraduate research, as needed.

What We Can Offer
The salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 - $58,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within CEAS guidelines.

What We Require
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Desire to help with event planning around undergraduate student activities and cohort building.
- Highly customer service oriented.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Basic skills in Qualtrics a plus.
- Solid understanding in databases, such as CU’s internal systems (CU SIS, CU Data, etc).
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task on multiple projects.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Experience working with students, faculty, academic or administrative programs in a higher education institution.
- Experience in an undergraduate research office.
- Experience in crafting or updating web pages and social media.
- Experience in program support, basic business skills, payroll set-up.
