Job Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Provost for Institutional Research and Assessment, the Manager of Business Analytics and Strategic Reporting plays a crucial role in supporting the University’s mission, strategic plan and institutional effectiveness by creating and managing analytical reports and dashboards as well as developing new interactive resources and predictive analytic reports that are used to support decision making at the highest levels of the University. While housed in OIRA, the incumbent will work closely with executives in the Provost, finance, and enrollment management offices as well as administrators in financial aid, advising and other offices as well as external consultants to carry out their assignments.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in a quantitatively driven discipline (math, statistics, computer science) or other appropriately quantitative academic discipline (e.g. sociology, economics, psychology) required. Doctoral degree preferred.
2. Five or more years of demonstrated success in institutional research, enrollment management, finance, financial aid or another data driven administrative office at the college or systems office levels.
3. Substantial experience using statistical software applications such as SPSS, Excel Power Suite, and MS Access.
4. Substantial and demonstratable experience in data visualization and dashboard software (Tableau preferred).
5. Experience conducting financial and enrollment analysis in the service of administrative decision-making.
6. Experience conducting predictive analytics or regression analysis in the service of administrative decision-making.
7. Experience with time-management software (e.g.: Asana) preferred.
8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently are essential.
9. Effective oral and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
10. Successful completion of a set of interviews, and a data skills assessment.
11. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
