Campus Liaison Financial Trainer

This position exists to manage the growing responsibility of training campus users on Workday, fiscal rules, financial reporting and budgetary matters. This position also serves as a campus liaison between the Office of the Controller and the campus departments sharing information as it pertains to financial reporting and fiscal operations to ensure the Office of the Controller continues to provide services that are relevant to the University and departments have the resources necessary to be successful in their roles.

  • Develop new and interesting training methods/materials to engage the user while leaving them access to information quickly while it is easily understandable. These trainings will include, in part, in-person, remote, PowerPoints, videos, job aides, 3-minute expert clips, Workday provided trainings, and other creative training opportunities.
  • Maintain the schedule for the trainings for the campus community and market these trainings to ensure they are widely known and accessible.
  • Maintain related exams, manage who took them, develop a pass/fail guideline and a related remediation plan.
  • Maintain an inventory of which trainings are offered, who took them and when.
  • Responsible for the Office of the Controller Help Desk, including: answering questions from university personnel regarding Accounts Payable, Accounting Services, Procurement Card, Travel Card, Workday, and reports and reporting tools. Also provides guidance on system access, referring employees to the ITS TDX Ticketing system when needed.

  • Will train as back-up for the Corporate Card Administrator. This will include campus email communication regarding late transactions, ordering or adjusting credit cards, and reconciliations of the clearing accounts. This will also include working with student auditors.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience providing customer service.
  • Previous experience managing multiple priorities with different deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • A degree in business, communication, or related field. Four years of full-time experience in these fields may substitute for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience providing training.
  • Previous experience writing communication for multiple audiences.
  • Previous experience monitoring and reconciling accounting transactions.
  • Previous experience with processing journal entry corrections.
  • Previous experience auditing to ensure compliance with organizational policy
  • Previous experience with corporate card administration
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with Banner Finance, Workday, or similar Finance systems.
Work Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, On campus position but there is flexibility for remote work.

Salary for Announcement:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $45,300 - $56,700. The full salary range is $45,300 - $68,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
