The Resource Sharing Manager oversees the daily operations of interlibrary loan and document delivery within the Acquisitions & Resource Sharing Department of UH Libraries. This position works closely with department leadership to develop vision and strategy for meeting the complex research and pedagogical needs of a large public university vis a vis resource sharing agreements with domestic and international library partners.
Duties Specific to This Position:
- Fosters a supportive, collaborative environment that provides resource sharing staff with opportunities to impact departmental operations and to challenge themselves professionally.
- Clearly and effectively communicates resource sharing activities and impact to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensures that resource sharing requests are efficiently and accurately filled, placing a high standard on customer service.
- Works with colleagues across the Collections, Strategies & Discovery (CSD) portfolio to align resource sharing practices with evolving collection development strategies.
- Coordinates workflows and policies with key stakeholders in CSD, external departments, and the special libraries.
- Regularly reviews resource sharing policies and procedures to ensure that they are efficient and that they align with the strategic goals of the department, library, and university.
- Develops and maintains documentation of resource sharing workflows, procedures, training materials, and policies.
May be eligible for Alternative Work Arrangements (AWA) after initial training period.

Qualifications :
Associates and 3 years experience
Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainable through specific education and/or training programs in a specialty or technical field. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or a basic knowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate's degree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty program of over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristic of this field. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in resource sharing, interlibrary loan (ILL), or document delivery in a library setting
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
- Experience working with Illiad
- Experience working with Alma (Ex Libris ILS)
Education will not be considered in lieu of experience.
