Pay Range Information

Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Associate Director is responsible to proactively seek out and recruit prospective candidates, matriculation, academic advising, and program management for the Argyros School Full-time and Integrated MBA programs. The ideal candidate must have a sales-oriented approach and knowledge of graduate business marketing tactics and strategies to increase recruitment. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of specialized sales, preferably in the professional recruitment or higher education sectors. Looking for a self-starting, motivated, relationship-driven, strong communicator who works well independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

Graduate Student Recruiting
  • Actively seek out potential students for the Full-time and Integrated MBA programs. Must meet and regularly exceed student recruitment goals. And motivated to increase enrollment.
  • Provides consultative services to prospective students regarding all details of the MBA program including application, matriculation, course overviews, program requirements, academic policies and procedures
  • Provides phone call, text and email outreach to prospective students and candidates
  • Schedules/hosts official application interviews with each candidate; makes recommendations as part of admissions selection committee
  • Represents the Argyros School at local and global recruitment fairs
  • Supports the development and utilization of recruiting management system. Build a strong communication flow for prospective and matriculated students
  • Works closely with the Director of Graduate Business Programs and colleagues to address recruitment issues and opportunities while developing comprehensive strategies to achieve annual target enrollment goals
  • Track, maintain, and keep daily account of recruitment metrics by working closely with Director of Graduate Programs
  • Identify, create and host information sessions and other recruiting and yield events for student prospects.
  • Deliver all student advising and other services to Full-time and Integrated MBA students, including academic policies, course selection and scheduling.
  • Plan and attend industry-specific networking events, special projects, student activities, classes, and training sessions for MBA

Implementing Marketing Strategies and Tactics
  • Work with Director of Graduate Business Programs and Assistant Dean for graduate programs, proactively develop ideas for new marketing tactics and initiatives to support and improve recruitment.
  • Manage the coordination and development of print and digital marketing materials; maintains marketing and recruiting information on Argyros School Graduate Programs webpage
  • Gather and stay informed of industry best marketing practices in relation to recruitment trends, timelines, market analyses and competitor intelligence
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Graduate Programs and the Associate Dean for Academic Programs on course scheduling.
Required Qualifications
  • Specialized and relationship-based sales and/or recruiting experience with proven track record of achieving goals.
  • Able to develop, plan and achieve short and long-range goals.
  • Experience working with digital recruitment and marketing strategies.
  • Experience developing, implementing and using CRM systems.
  • Able to quickly understand/interpret and apply guidelines and procedures consistently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate data, assess alternatives and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written; especially for presentations.
  • Demonstrates tact and diplomacy, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project-management skills.
  • Motivated to work independently but able to thrive and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experienced working in a professional environment with strong Microsoft Office skills/comfort.
  • Working knowledge of student career and academic advising principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with higher education recruitment and admission; preferably for MBA programs.
  • Ability to supervise and manage employees.
