Lenoir-Rhyne University’s College of Business and Economics seeks applications for a full-time, nontenure-track, twelve-month faculty appointment. Appointment begins August 2023.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Responsibilities include both teaching and administrative duties. Teaching responsibilities may include coursework at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and advising College of Business and Economics students, as needed. The number of courses taught will be determined based on the extent of administrative duties but will not exceed twelve credit hours per year. The position will work closely with the College of Business and Economics dean on administrative and strategic matters. Administrative duties include oversight of the College of Business and Economics student internship program, advising local small businesses in collaboration with the Lenoir-Rhyne Center for Entrepreneurship, program development for community and alumni engagement and serving as a liaison to University Advancement on fundraising efforts with the College of Business and Economics. The position will also serve on university committees and/or College of Business and Economics committees as necessary.
A master’s degree in business administration or a closely related field is required. Preferred candidates will be familiar with the Hickory, NC area and possess credentials and experience in executive management, entrepreneurship and/or fundraising. Successful candidates will display a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, collaborative work and relationship development.
