Clinical Pharmacy Faculty Position

Applications are invited from qualified individuals with experience in community or general pharmacy practice for a non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities: The principal responsibility is to teach students pharmacy practice skills which include but are not limited to pharmaceutical care, patient counselling, non-sterile compounding, medication therapy management, diabetes management, and immunization expertise. This faculty member will teach students across all four years of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. The faculty member should maintain some expertise in community-based pharmacy practice. The faculty member will be expected to engage with patients and learners in community settings which can include community pharmacies, clinics, health fairs, and West Virginia University-affiliated tele-pharmacy settings. The individual also has research/scholarship and service responsibilities within the School of Pharmacy.
Qualifications :
Credentials: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and PGY1 pharmacy residency training are required. Pharmacy licensure in West Virginia will be required. The successful candidate will possess a high level of clinical practice skills, enthusiasm for didactic and clinical teaching, and the interpersonal skills needed for interacting effectively with students, faculty, health professionals, and patients. The faculty member will need to be certified to provide immunizations and to teach American Pharmacist Association (APhA) certificate programs that are taught within the curriculum.
Institution and Location: West Virginia University is a land grant, Carnegie-designated Doctoral Research/Extensive institution, with approximately 23,000 undergraduates, 5,000 graduate, and 1,600 professional students. The Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health. The Morgantown area has approximately 80,000 residents and is rated as one of the best small towns in the U.S., with affordable housing, excellent schools, a picturesque countryside and many outdoor activities. Monongalia County has approximately 120,000 residents. Morgantown is within easy driving distance to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. The faculty member should also maintain a limited community-based patient care practice at a School of Pharmacy affiliated pharmacy practice site(s).
