Job Description

Summary:

Working with full time and student staff, and reporting to the Assistant Director for Facilities Operations, the Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for the professional supervision of facility operations including a 300,000 sq, ft. indoor facility and an outdoor complex including turf fields, track, and sand volleyball courts. This position will interact with and assist students and members with their daily use. Areas of concentration will include personnel leadership with an emphasis on student development, training and coaching on a daily basis; a high degree of attention to the condition and appearance of the facilities. Demonstrate initiative with excellent organization and time management skills and who can provide exceptional personnel leadership with an emphasis on student development and training.

Detailed Description:
  • Supervise daily operation of multiple, highly visible, recreation facility spaces to ensure a safe, friendly, and functional environment; provide immediate service assistance to students, members and guests; and enforce security policies and practices.
  • Interview, select, train, coach, and give performance evaluations to 100 – 150 Team Mizzou student staff within Facility Operations which includes facility access, supervision of fitness spaces, and equipment check out.
  • Direct supervision of first year Facility Frontline student employees, assist with indirect supervision of 15-20 Facility Leads and non-first-year Facility Frontline student employees.
  • Oversight of implementing hiring cycles and onboarding elements for the student employees joining the Facilities Operations area.
  • Assist with development and Inservice of student Facility Frontline and student Facility Lead staff.
  • Co-coordinate the student Facility Frontline schedule.
  • Assist with budgets and inventory of facility operations and fitness supplies.
  • Serve as a member of the Facility On-Duty Leadership Team by providing on-duty, direct front-line leadership for all aspects of the Student Recreation Complex, Stankowski Outdoor Complex to include the ability to actively engage and provide hands on coaching and leadership to all front-line Team Mizzou student staff.
  • Aide the Assistant Director for Facilities Operations in producing semester/annual reports to include statistical analysis, evaluations and assessments, and program recommendations.
  • Enforce all policies & procedures of department practices and university guidelines.
  • Coach and train student staff on Emergency Action Plan duties on a semesterly basis.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Salary

Salary Range: $ 17.43-$23.08 an hour

Shift

40 hours per week, majority weekdays with some early mornings, nights, and weekend requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Standard Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED and / or Instructor Certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented, as well as, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent presentation skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of facility and student staff management.
