Program Coordinator (Broadband) - (STA012016)



Coordinates and provides administrative support to an ongoing program at the University.
  1. Coordinates program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
  2. Participates in planning and developing methods for program implementation and administration; coordinates program activities.
  3. Reviews records and reports of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective; recommends modifications to methods or procedures as required to redirect activities and ensure that objective is attained.
  4. Prepares recurring program reports for management use.
  5. May participate in preparing grant proposals to state and federal agencies and private foundations.
  6. May participate in budget planning and preparation and assist in controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations for the program.
  7. May conduct formal training or instruction in a classroom setting.
  8. Interacts with faculty, staff and students to promote the goals and objective of the program.
  9. Performs other job related duties as required.

- High School and 1 year of experience.
- Salary Range: 17.26-22.01

Education: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED.Experience: No experience required.

Additional Job Posting Information:

Under general supervision, coordinates the development and creation of each semester's schedule of classes. Reviews information submitted for a college's class schedule and catalog for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to policies and practices for the Office of Registrar.

Performs the academic scheduling function (e.g. course fit patterns, block scheduling, course changes, new courses, schedule production, and academic calendar) and Regularly gathering and updating academic schedules per semester. Assign courses to classrooms as directed by Supervisor.

Works with the Curriculum Office to stay current with the changes being made to the master course data.

Creates scholarship disbursement memos and maintain record keeping of the related reports.

Prepares comprehensive reports and requests, including recommendations based on thorough analysis for submission to the scholarship committee.

May provide administrative support functions to the Office of Student Affairs such as compiling data and information, responding to routine inquiries from staff and other institutional offices, preparing and processing operational documents, and resolving problems related to the work of the office during peak workload periods or in the absence of assigned staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
  • Effectively utilize the features of computer software such as Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat and resources such as the PeopleSoft queries to create and maintain files, retrieve data, manipulate data, format reports, and publish final documents
  • Customer service techniques for public contact in person, on the telephone, and in written communications.
  • Report and business correspondence formats.
  • Proper business English, punctuation, spelling, and grammatical usage.
  • Organization and use of records and files.
  • Critically review and troubleshoot software and data problems and take corrective action.
  • Critically review source data and detect and correct errors.
  • Perform mathematical computations of moderate difficulty.
  • Write clear and effective reports, correspondence and informational materials.
  • Work independently on assigned projects.
  • Meet schedules and critical time lines.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with administrators, academic directors, and staff.
  • Maintain a variety of logs, files, and records.
