Job Description Summary
The Clinical Research Project Manager is responsible for oversight, execution, and regulatory compliance of human subject research carried out in the new Penn Center of Excellence for Influenza Research and Response (CEIRR). Clinical research projects will be designed to study influenza virus surveillance in the surrounding community and worldwide, as well as immune responses to both influenza virus infection and vaccination. The Research Project Manager will take a leadership role in developing study protocols, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and will maintain research database in compliance with HIPAA regulations. They will help develop the team's research strategy and will have ample opportunities to lead projects. The Research Project Manager will also serve as the main liaison between Penn, investigators conducting clinical research activities under Penn-CEIRR, and the NIH by being responsible for the day to day management of complex projects conducted with all collaborators. They be required to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide supervision to educators and teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborates with peers from other Universities. The Research Project Manager must be detail oriented, have prior experience with IRB guidelines and policies and human subject research practices, and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols. They will generate reports documenting the progress of individual research projects for internal and external use.

A Research Project Manager B will also be responsible for overseeing/training personnel who will be working on clinical activities conducted directly at Penn and taking an independent role on developing study protocols and managing all clinical research projects under Penn-CEIRR.
Qualifications:
Research Project Manager A - Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Research Project Manager B - Master's Degree and 3 - 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Position is contingent upon funding.
