Job Summary

The Associate Director provides oversight of a residential environment conducive to the academic success and personal development of residential students. The Associate Director serves on the Residence Education Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Residence Education.

This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.

Responsibilities

• Supervise three to four Assistant Directors and indirectly supervises graduate and professional live-in staff
• Oversee professional staff recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing development in adherence to University Housing's Eagle Initiative Plan for developing personal and professional core competencies to cultivate leaders within the housing profession
• Supervise the administrative responsibilities of the Residence Education department while ensuring an efficient and organized operation
• Administer and assess the Residential Curriculum model, establishing a learning focused environment for residential students
• Direct and respond to various crisis situations
• Serve in the on-campus Residence Education Leadership Team crisis management rotation

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements

• Master's Degree in Student Development, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field

Required Experience

• Five (5) or more years of related work experience

Proposed Salary

$50,000 - $68,700

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
