Position Summary:
Responsible for graduate student services for the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program, including advising and coordinating administrative efforts with the MSIS Director, faculty members, department chair, staff, and the other graduate student academic advisor. Collaborates with all campus partner offices that provide services for international students. Assists with the evaluation of applications/transcripts materials for admission to the on-campus and online MSIS program. Monitors enrollments and participates in the enrollment management planning process, recruitment, and orientation. Supports program-related events and functions. Provides comprehensive academic advising support on course schedule advising, course mapping, and success strategies, while also documenting notes using customer relationship management software solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree.
Two years of higher education experience working directly with students.
Knowledge of college student development and research on retention and persistence.
Ability to professionally represent the university to diverse constituencies.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students, as well as communicate effectively, build rapport and project a positive attitude.
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Knowledge of current and best practices related to college student retention, academic success coaching, and academic advising.
Working knowledge of computer applications and willingness to learn new technology and systems.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience advising/coaching college students, teaching, and understanding of higher education administration.
Experience working with graduate students and advising graduate students.
Experience working with faculty, scheduling, enrollment management, and projections.
Experience with technology and customer relationship management software solutions.
Working knowledge of the university curriculum, academic programs, policies, and procedures.
Experience with outreach efforts.
Knowledge/experience working with international students.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating and delivering student services for the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program.
Supports program-related events and functions.
Evaluates transcripts/application materials to determine an applicant’s admissibility to program.
Approves Regular Admission for applicants and makes Conditional Admission recommendations to MSIS Director when appropriate.
Monitors enrollments and projections, as well as course exception requests, to inform Director.
Communicates with Director about transfer credits for program of study.
Assists in the delivery of recruitment presentations and orientation sessions, and/or applicable student workshops.
Collaborates with all campus partner offices that provide services for international students.
Works in collaboration with faculty and staff colleagues on continual improvement and coordination of services.
Advises domestic and international students in virtual settings, as well as face to face appointments on degree planning, career options and success strategies.
Assists students with meeting academic progression benchmarks, student success, and referrals to campus resources.
Develops technical skills needed for efficient and effective academic advising, such as course planning, course registration, general financial aid knowledge as it relates to Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Documents appropriate notes in a customer relationship management system and utilizes system functions.
Assists with program evaluation and assessment, providing recommendations to enhance communication and the development of strategic initiatives.
Provides direct outreach for students experiencing academic difficulty by utilizing university resources customized to individual student needs.
Works with college faculty and staff to develop, deliver, and evaluate effective retention efforts.
Complies with FERPA and any other federal, state or university rules or regulations.
Participates in professional development, works collaboratively with colleagues, and serves on university-wide committees or initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
