Job Summary

The Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning in Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business strengthens students’ understanding of theory and practice through innovative curricula, international experiences, business consulting projects, and programming that connects academia and industry.

The Program Coordinator, Experiential Learning, is a full-time position that manages international residency courses and travel, business consulting projects, and stakeholder engagements. The position is integral to the college’s experiential learning portfolio and initiatives that support LeBow’s strategic goals.

This position has an anticipated start date of July 3rd, 2023 or later.

Essential Functions
  • International Residency Planning and Travel
    • Plan up to four international residencies per year
    • Travel internationally as needed and identify capable staff to lead with faculty abroad
    • Source international business consulting opportunities with organizations and identify locations appropriate for educational travel
    • Work with third-party travel provider for planning of company visits, cultural activities, transportation, and itinerary logistics
    • Work with faculty to align coursework with experiences abroad
    • Recruit student participants via information sessions and promotion throughout the college/university, and communication with faculty and advisors
    • Coordinate and conduct undergraduate student interviews with student applicants and faculty
    • Serve as the point of contact for student correspondence, including course inquiries, interview scheduling, informational resources and evaluations
    • Assist students with required visa documentation and travel extensions as necessary
    • Schedule and deliver international residency travel orientation for students and faculty
    • Maintain the Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning relationship with the Office of Global Engagement
    • Administer travel budgets and complete payments
    • Understand university safety and emergency procedures and protocol abroad
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Working with faculty and organizations, manage business consulting engagements throughout the year, ensuring a successful project lifecycle from development and implementation to execution, for undergraduate and graduate student populations
    • Effectively build and maintain external partnerships and professional relationships as a representative of the office and college
    • Provide support for the office’s portfolio of experiential learning initiatives and events
    • Initiate and assist with promotional efforts for international residency courses and programming, collaborating with the Office of Marketing and Communications to develop content for the website, student newsletters, and social media
    • Implement and facilitate the office’s annual business consulting survey to assess student outcomes and impact
    • Serve as the advisor for the Drexel Consulting Group, working with the student organization’s leadership to plan events, engage members and alumni, and promote relevant and existing college events and initiatives to members, and with Student Life to ensure that the organization meets required criteria and remains in good standing with the university
  • Administrative Operations
    • Supervise the office’s federal work study employees – create job description(s), identify and interview potential candidates, and complete hiring and payment processes
    • Work with relevant departments and units (Department of Management, Office of the Dean, Graduate Student Services) to support the annual galley process and ensure quarterly review of course offerings and delivery
    • Manage the Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning’s administrative needs, including processing orders and allocating expenses
    • Complete EPAFs for faculty payments as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
  • 2 years of professional experience
  • Ability to coordinate detailed projects with a focus on quality, deadline management, responsibility and accountability.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders, representing the office and college with professionalism and integrity.
  • Flexibility in organization of workflow and adaptability to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in directing own work, as well as working efficiently and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to the continual practice of discernment and confidentiality in relation to all client communications, interactions and shared information
