Position Summary:
The Senior Associate/Associate Director of Transfer Admission will build and manage Willamette's growing transfer program to meet enrollment and revenue goals. The crux of this program will be the establishment of agreements with community colleges that will build predictable transfer pipelines.

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director of Transfer Admission serves as the primary coordinator of the CAS undergraduate transfer process. This role will serve as a member of both the Lead and Recruitment Teams and will have responsibility for complete transfer territory development and management. The Sr. Associate/Associate Director represents the University to external constituents including prospective students, families, counselors, and colleagues, and also works with internal campus constituents including students, faculty, and staff. All job responsibilities will be performed with the primary goal of advancing the University's enrollment and net revenue goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will report directly to the Dean of Admission of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director, in support of the University's goals to grow the transfer population, will manage the development of transfer pathway programs with area community colleges to create consistent pipelines for transfer students. As pathway programs are strengthened, additional pathways will be sought with potential to grow into primary markets beyond Oregon.

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director will work as a member of the Admission Lead Team to ensure consistent communication with leadership regarding transfer program development and progress.

This role will work internally with the CAS Dean's Office, the University Registrar, and other campus partners to effectively develop pipelines for enrollment and orientation for a growing transfer population.

This role will work intentionally with the Director of Admission Marketing and Events as well are University Marketing and Communications to develop transfer-specific communication flow.

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director will participate in all admission-related activities including the management of their admission territory as it relates to the transfer population:

Territory managers plan and execute a travel schedule that is data-driven, creative, and focused on both application generation and yield, including:

high school visitations and off-campus interviews

college fairs, workshops, and counselor events

management of territory-specific off-campus events

Territory managers communicate and interact proactively, consistently, genuinely, and in a timely fashion with students and families from their designated territory:

to encourage application and participation in the visit program

to encourage continued interest throughout the application process

to affect yield of admitted students through daily communication strategies

Territory managers participate as members of the Admission Committee including:

review of student credentials and admission recommendations

participation in merit scholarship recommendations

Territory managers support the successful execution of on-campus visit programs through participation in:

counselor of the day responsibilities

session presentations or moderation of panels during major events

preparation for major events in any way required of the Visit & Events Team

Secondary Job Responsibilities

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director will serve as the primary athletics liaison to facilitate effective communication and work processes between athletics and admission. This role will:

Attend head coaches meetings

Meet regularly with admission and athletics leadership to anticipate inter-departmental needs

Coordinate twice-annual athletics/admission trainings and social gatherings

Ensure athletics personnel are directed to appropriate territory counselors and project managers for effective communication and problem-solving

Facilitate operations and communications support for athletics

The Sr. Associate/Associate Director will support team work as a member of one internal team.

Essential Duties

formulates individual correspondence in coordination with overall communication campaigns

supports and participates in all associated recruitment initiatives

exercises discretion to safeguard the confidentiality of student, staff and University information

demonstrates the highest professional demeanor and ethical behavior while representing the University

remains current in external market conditions

exercises best admission practices.

performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years experience in enrollment (associate director); 10 years experience in enrollment (senior associate director)
  • Prior supervisory experience (senior associate director)
  • Experience working with transfer students
  • Understanding of transfer agreements


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Working knowledge of Slate CRM


Typical Work Schedule

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Position includes significant amounts of event and weekend work; several weeks of travel each year are expected.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Typical work is performed indoors in a normal office environment. Significant amount of time in front of a computer screen reading applications is required.
