Shift: Monday -Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hrs/wk), and on-call status for international emergencies, Evenings or weekends possible.
Job Summary
The University of Kentucky International Center (UKIC) seeks a dynamic and professional leader for the university’s office of Education Abroad & Exchanges. Located within the UKIC, the Education Abroad (EA) unit is a thriving contributor to UK’s ambitious international agenda, guided by Global UK: A Strategic Plan for Campus Internationalization, and to the overall university’s strategic priorities as expressed in The UK Purpose. The vision of the UK International Center is: “a University of Kentucky where a global mindset is integral to our teaching, research, service, and operations; where diverse cultural perspectives are included and valued; and where global learning is broadly accessible.”
Education Abroad & Exchanges’ staffing, in addition to the executive director, includes an associate director, four EA advisors/coordinators, a faculty-directed programs coordinator, promotion and outreach coordinator, data and technology support specialist, and an operations manager. In addition, the unit employs a team of undergraduate student ambassadors.
The Executive Director will serve as a key member of the UKIC leadership team and will lead in the development of creative and high-impact global learning experiences in cooperation with the deans, faculty, and International Advisory Council. S/he will also be expected to maintain an external leadership role, participating in professional associations nationally and globally, and promoting best practices through presentations and publications.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Facility with Microsoft required; Terra Dotta facility is also preferred.
