The Department of Animal and Food Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking applicants for two 11-month non-tenure-track position (100% Teaching) in undergraduate teaching and academic advising at the rank of Teaching Instructor.

Position Description
These 11-month, non-tenure track Teaching Instructor positions are for three years, renewable each year based on satisfactory performance and funding. Typically, an 11-month appointment period is an academic year: July 1 – May 31. The department is nationally known for excellence in teaching and advising activities with undergraduate academic advisement provided by the faculty. Candidates are expected to uphold this reputation as they work to further strengthen the undergraduate academic experience. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching the Animal and Food Science Professional Development course and based upon departmental need, will also be expected to teach one existing course per semester. Advising responsibilities will focus on students majoring in animal science with a pre-veterinary/pre-medical degree option. Advising other animal science and food sciences majors may be part of the advising load as needed.

Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, or a closely related field is required. Applicants must be committed to both teaching and advising excellence. Preference will be given to individuals with excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, evidence of teaching success with the ability to advise, a passion for teaching undergraduate students and the ability to work in teams and assume leadership roles.
