The Opportunity:
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now accepting applications for the position of Flight Supervisor in the Flight Training Department at our Daytona Beach Campus. This position Provides direct and immediate supervision of all flight operations conducted at the Daytona Beach ERAU campus. This duty relies on a high degree of aviation operational experience regarding fight training aircraft/personnel dispatch procedures, flight operations, and real-time aviation weather analysis.
The Flight Supervisor is the on-scene representative of the Chief Instructor. The primary focus of the position is operational flight safety, as the Duty Flight Supervisor constantly monitors and evaluates all flight operations. In the event of an emergency, the Duty Flight Supervisor coordinates with ERAU Flight Safety and Security personnel, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and State/Local Law Enforcement agencies to the extent required. The monitoring of physical security of the ERAU training aircraft fleet and ERAU’s ramp is also tasked to the Duty Flight Supervisor.

The Flight Supervisor will:
- Constantly monitor the weather and the real-time trend analysis
of the weather.
- Verify qualifications, endorse and approve flight students that
are scheduled for solo flights
- Monitor the ERAU Aircraft Ramp Security/Safety and the physical
security of the training fleet of aircraft
- Work with in-flight emergencies of ERAU aircraft; coordinate
with Chief Instructor, Maintenance, Director of Safety and other
ERAU Management; Coordinate with Airport Operations and FAA Air
Traffic Control to the extent required.
- Constantly monitor and evaluate all flight operations
- Issue Visitor Ramp Badges
- Issue assignments for Progress Checks and Check Rides
- Maintain and update rental files; verify qualification and
schedule rental flights
- Approve, check, edit activities
- Ensure the Flight Supervisor Manual is up to date with current
procedures
- Keep an adequate supply of forms and update them as
needed
- Act as “on call” delegate in understaffed situations
- Mentor and guide students with decision-making and judgment
regarding the weather
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- CFI/CFII required.
- Excellent communicative skills both written and oral.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously is
required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
