Position Summary:

We are a diverse community of students, staff and faculty at a Catholic, Marianist research University in search of a candidate to provide outstanding service to our students.

While the Assistant Director of Admissions & Financial Aid will be involved with all aspects of advising and recruiting prospective University of Dayton School of Law (UDSL) students, the person occupying the position will have special responsibilities for admissions to the School’s Hybrid JD Program. Reporting to UDSL’s Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing, and in collaboration with students, faculty and staff colleagues, the Assistant Director will advise students generally about admission requirements and financial aid opportunities by phone and electronic communications. More specifically, the Assistant Director will represent UDSL at virtual and in-person recruiting events, give virtual and in-person presentations, and help review applications and make admission recommendations. The Assistant Director will also cultivate relationships with prelaw advisors, community and professional organizations and other constituents to promote the online hybrid JD program and be responsible for developing and implementing a data driven recruitment and yield strategy for the online hybrid JD program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Must have a minimum of three years experience working in an admissions/recruiting role in higher education.
Must be self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have strong public speaking skills.
Must have advising/relationship-management experience in a higher education environment.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must have a valid driver’s license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master’s or JD degree preferred.
A minimum of two years experience creating and implementing a recruitment and yield strategy.
Experience working in Ellucian Banner.
Experience working in UNITE/ACES.
Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist principles of education and values.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
