Position Summary

To provide mechanical and building trade services to all Housing & Residence Life buildings and academic buildings or facilities on campus. Knowledge of standard procedures and practices in carpentry, locksmith, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and painting is expected. Must be familiar with completing work orders and performing them in a safe and efficient manner. The incumbent must be skilled in the use of hand tools, ability to read blueprints and experienced with using computers to perform their job duties. Must have the ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

This unit’s primary function is to ensure all residential buildings function as normal.

Minimum Experience/Education

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY ; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK .

3 -5 years of maintenance experience, State License in any trade, Associate Degree in maintenance or equivalent. Applicant must have working knowledge of the use of tools of the trade. skilled in all aspects of Carpentry, installation, repair, preventive and corrective maintenance. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces; must have working knowledge of methods, installations, and repair of walls, plaster, windows, and paint. Must have entry level plumbing skills to assists plumbers as needed with repairs.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
