PURPOSE
Help faculty in pre-award application and post-award account management
DESCRIPTION
Functional Area 1: Operation
Percent Effort: 50%
- Process New Account Requests for gift and non-grant
accounts
- Prepare and submit costing allocations for faculty and
students in Workday and assist in Time
and Effort reporting - Manage and monitor the TEES grant account and prepare/submit
monthly invoices
- Prepare and submit Interdepartmental Transfers (IDTs) for
grant accounts
- Prepare and approve Departmental Budget Requests (DBRs) and
Department Correction
Requests (DCRs) - Review and approve travel requests and faculty/student
expense reports in CONCUR
- Review and approve monthly PCard transactions related to
grant accounts
- Prepare and submit Payroll Cost Transfers
(PCTs)
- Work closely with the Office of Sponsored Research
Administration to establish new accounts
- Monitor ongoing grants/contracts to maintain sponsor
compliance
Functional Area 2: Budget
Percent Effort: 20%
- Create and manage financial budgets for grant proposals and
post-award accounts within the
College of Engineering - Assist faculty and researchers manage their grant accounts
by monitoring, analyzing and
forecasting financial data and budgets
Functional Area 3: Support
Percent Effort: 30%
- Assist the faculty in monitoring grants by preparing and
reviewing financial reports on a
monthly basis - Prepare tuition/payment requests for research/teaching
assistants from faculty grant accounts
- Ensure grant expenditures are in compliance with Federal,
State and Local guidelines
- Assist the Business Manager in developing financial
documents for faculty review
- Provide assistance and guidance to department admins
regarding grant accounts
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or
accounting.
- Three years of professional experience in grant development;
or equivalent education/training or experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of research grant application
processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior grant development experience at an institute of higher
education.
