Job Summary:
The Admissions Representative identifies applicants through recruitment efforts, such as visiting high schools to meet with counselors and teachers, attending college fairs, and participating in community events. The Admissions Representative is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate students during the fall Admission travel season. They are expected to travel to regional and national recruitment events, interview prospective students and meet with their families. Additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Plans travel to several regions to recruit prospective students
throughout the Fall. Coordinates travel logistics in conjunction
with the admission team in order to reach regional events and
conduct high school visits in a number of territories.
- Requires extensive travel to college fairs and high school
visits to speak with prospective students, their parents, and
college counselors.
- The admission representative will plan travel and events within
their assigned territories, working closely with their admission
supervisor to decide which events to attend. After training in the
end of August/beginning of September, they will travel throughout
September and October. Travel will be mostly in person, but may
also be virtual. When required, the admission representative will
participate in on-campus recruitment events.
- The admission representative will communicate with prospective
students, families and school counselors as necessary in advance of
their visits, as well as conduct appropriate follow-up with
students met, and/or facilitate connection to admission and Simmons
staff.
- The admission representative will be expected to demonstrate a
commitment to customer service by communicating clearly,
positively, and effectively in a timely manner with all
constituents.
- The admission representative explains school policies and
procedures to prospective students and families
- The admission representative meets with prospective students,
parents, and other school officials to discuss available programs
and services
- The admissions representative advises students on the
application process including writing essays, taking required
exams, getting letters of recommendation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
required;
- Recruiting, sales, or marketing experience a plus;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking
skills;
- Valid driver's license required.
Requirements
- Extensive travel required. Travel throughout Sept-October for
the purpose of recruiting prospective students. Trips will range
from day trips, to overnights, to multiple trips that require
overnight stays on location for up to three weeks each. Evening,
Holidays, and weekend work required.
Position Details:
This is a temporary, full time (40 hours per week) position from late August through October 2022.
