Minimum Qualifications
  • An earned Master’s degree in the field of expertise from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience or potential for supervising faculty and staff.
  • Demonstrated administrative capabilities that exhibit a commitment to building and maintaining collaborative relationships between diverse programs.
  • Experience working with students in a college setting and a demonstrated commitment to the educational development of students.
  • Demonstrated experience working on behalf of nontraditional and/or interdisciplinary students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of the Professional Studies Program provides leadership, coordination, and advocacy to support the newly proposed Professional Studies Program. The Director will build and maintain collaborations with departments and colleges across campus.

The responsibilities of the Director of the Professional Studies Program include, but are not limited to:

1. Teaching the UCO 2200 Foundations of Professional Studies course and supervising UCO 4900 Capstone Internship in Professional Studies.
2. Coordinating together with Student Employment and Internships to provide support for students in the Professional Studies Program.
3. Supervising administrative staff associated with the program.
4. Overseeing student advising for the program.
5. Planning and allocating the annual budget.
6. Staying abreast of the national conversation and best practices in regard to degree completion programs and interdisciplinary education.
7. Participating in professional development related to degree completion programs, interdisciplinary studies, and working with nontraditional students.
