Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry at Trinity College invites applications for a one year, full-time visiting assistant professor to join our vibrant and diverse faculty and students in the fall term of 2023. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry and possess the ability to teach introductory and/or organic chemistry lecture and laboratory courses. The successful candidate will be part of a team that collaborates in teaching the lecture and laboratory courses in introductory and organic chemistry. We use a guided-inquiry approach where the contribution of each student’s laboratory data plays a central role in how all students learn.

A complete application should include a cover letter, CV, a 1-2 page statement on teaching philosophy and goals, official transcripts (combined as one pdf), and contact information for three individuals who will provide letters of recommendation. Regarding the teaching statement, candidates should address in this document how their teaching will succeed with the diverse student population at the College.
