Earlham College is seeking an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to join our team!

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the planning and execution of solicitations and programs for special constituencies, including but not limited to young alumni, alumni in reunion years, and recurring gift donors.

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving and works closely with the Alumni Engagement Team, the Advancement Services Team, and the Assistant Director of Advancement Communications. Additionally, this position will maintain relationships with members of various campus offices, including Student Life.

Essential Functions
  • Work with the Director of Annual Giving to develop and implement strategies related to donor solicitations focused on retention and new donor acquisition, stewardship, and communications, along with other strategies to increase donations to the Earlham Fund.

  • Help in the development of strategies for the Center for Digital Philanthropy (student-employed center for calling, texting, and other tactics) to further the goals of Annual Giving and the Office of Institutional Advancement and manage the program, including supervising and training student employees.

  • Develop and implement solicitation strategies for young alumni, the reunion giving program, recurring gift efforts, and other special constituencies.

  • Help coordinate and execute the College’s annual giving day with particular emphasis on the above special constituencies and Homecoming and Reunion Weekend.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends and best practices in next-generation giving and engagement.

  • Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and respectful community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the College.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Additional duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree

  • The Assistant Director of Annual Giving should possess strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and planning skills and must be able to work effectively with volunteers.

  • Candidates for this position should have some experience in fundraising, alumni relations, volunteer coordination, admissions, sales, marketing, or some combination thereof.

  • Be a positive example and resource to all Earlham Students
