SALARY:

$69,200 - $89,900+ per year DOE. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

Plan and oversee a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular services including student leadership development, coordination of student clubs and organizations, wellness, student activities, and other RVU-MCOM events.

Essential Job Functions

Programming
  • Design, implement, and facilitate various program activities for the student community which enhance and promote academic success, engagement, leaderships and/or contribute to the quality of campus life.
  • Plan and direct major student events for RVU-MCOM, White Coat, Match Day, Graduation, Winter Gala, etc.
  • In collaboration with Mental Health and Wellness counselor, develop and facilitate student wellness programming (social, emotional/spiritual, environmental and physical).
  • Develop and implement student life programming and support for 3rd & 4th year students on clinical externship rotations and audition rotations.
  • Manage specific events logistics including on-site event set-up, budget, event management, event breakdown, event marketing, and volunteer management.

Leadership Development
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight of student clubs and organizations by providing operations, guidelines, consultation, support, assistance, and advice regarding club fundraising, leadership, and related activity programming.
  • Provide leadership and serve as advisor to the Student Government Association and the individual Class Councils as needed.
  • Direct the election process and oversee the leadership development of student government leaders, including planning and providing a student government retreat.
  • Develop, manage and assess the Peer Mentor Programs (COM & MMS).
  • Assist the Assistant/Associate Dean of Student Affairs in assessment of Student Affairs programs.
  • Help develop policies and procedures relating to Student Life and Special Events.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve on committees at the request of the Assistant/Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant/Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
  • Develop annual goals for Student Life
  • Develop policies and procedures relating to Student Life.
  • Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist administration, faculty, and staff in special projects as needed.
  • Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - or higher, from an accredited institution in related field, such as Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education, Educational Psychology, Counseling, etc.
  • Experience working at an accredited university, health profession college, or medical school.
  • Experience in leadership roles and performing leadership responsibilities in an educational setting.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Three years full-time experience working at an accredited university, health profession college, or medical school in Student Affairs.
  • Experience with student leadership development.
  • Experience developing and refining policies and procedures.
