Pay Range Information

Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Job Description Summary

The HR (Human Resources) Systems Analyst is responsible for the daily functioning of PeopleSoft HCM and other HR systems. Serve as the front-facing role in interacting with various functional users and campus constituents to assess business needs, identify fit/gap, and provide recommendations on system solutions with focus on innovation and automation when possible. Participate in the continuous improvement of the PS HCM functionalities, services, and upgrades. The position also serves as the subject matter expert of HCM data. Responsible for meeting with requestors to gather data requirements, determine appropriate data fields, and deliver accurate data in a compliant and user-friendly format.
The position works in collaboration with Information Systems and Technology teams and colleagues in other departments to ensure on-going performance of PeopleSoft HCM and the integrations between PS HCM and other enterprise and Human Resources systems.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily functioning of PeopleSoft HCM and other HR systems. Participate in the continuous improvement of the PS HCM and other system functionalities
  • Serve as the front-facing role in interacting with various functional users and campus constituents to assess business needs, identify fit/gap, and provide recommendations on system solutions with focus on innovation and automation when possible.
  • Work with HR colleagues to support operational activities, such as troubleshooting system errors, vendor file transmission errors, configuration of partial position management, eComp and Open Enrollment, etc.
  • Manage and ensure appropriate role security for HR systems, including but not limited to, PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleAdmin, Pyramid Analytics, Everfi, etc. Work with team leads to identify appropriate role securities.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Design team to map business processes as necessary. · Proactively work with the Director to evaluate possible HCM solutions that can deliver better functionalities, and manage fixes before functional and campus users are affected.
  • Work together with HR Systems colleagues on testing, enhancements, and implementing improved solutions.
  • Document and/or update HR system and security changes as well as connections to other systems.
  • Provide training and coordinate communication on new functionalities, interface, and other changes.
  • Manage Service Tickets and follow through, or re-route them as appropriate.
  • Stay current with HR related systems and tools and be able to provide recommendations on potential solutions.
As a subject matter expert of HCM data, gather data requirements, determine appropriate data fields, and deliver most accurate data in compliant and user-friendly format.
  • Prioritize incoming requests for data and report fixes, and deliver queries to meet the specific reporting needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular data audit to monitor data integrity in HR systems.
  • Build new queries to optimize data delivery for functional users.
  • Facilitate the production of a monthly HR Reporting Scorecard.
  • Provide technical expertise for new data request related to HR metrics, dashboards and/or reports.
  • Work with HR teams to support data reporting needs for institutional and external compliance.
Collaborate with Information Systems and Technology teams and other departments on-campus with integration to HR systems to:
  • Ensure on-going performance of PeopleSoft HCM, data reporting tools, and other HRIS systems, as well as integrations between various enterprise systems.
  • Translate business requirements into systems solutions as necessary, and to ensure that releases, patches, security fixes, etc. for HR systems and tools are tested and implemented appropriately.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five or more years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Testing and coordinating application of upgrades, patches, improved functionalities, etc. Recent PeopleSoft HCM experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical expertise in diverse HR systems in order to manage role security, troubleshoot problems, and deliver best solutions.
  • Broad knowledge of human resources operations to assist functional users with assessing fit/gaps and recommending better solutions through automation or self-service features.
  • Demonstrated experience in obtaining data from PS HCM and other multiple sources and connecting them for data analyses, reporting, and visualization
  • Proven ability to understand, interpret, and apply regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide strategy and recommendations on design and development methodologies, and leverage lessons learned from past experiences to drive continuous improvement of application and business process solutions.
  • Proven experience establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of team members and clients, utilizing clear and effective functional documentation skills.
  • Strong technical skills to learn and support various HCM systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and utilize effective working relationships across departments, functional areas, and reporting lines.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to details.

Desired Qualifications
  • Current experience with administering PS HCM 9.2 and using PeopleTools 8.5.8
  • Experience in creating custom PS queries.
  • Experience in developing human capital management metrics and dashboards with data analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
