SALARY:

$45,300 - $56,600 + per year, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

This position will be responsible for ensuring a high level of professional advising and recruitment, with attention to accuracy and compliance, for prospective RVU students on the Colorado Campus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as an on- and off-campus Advisor in all RVU-CO programs. Advises prospective students and applicants regarding admissions requirements, academic eligibility, program options, course equivalencies and alternative educational choices, where appropriate. Verifies completion of matriculation requirements for incoming students.
  • Manages and executes recruitment and retention activities and events for prospective students, both in-person and virtual, including event logistics and marketing to targeted audiences. Maintains data on registrants and attendees, budgeted expenses, post-event surveys and event success.
  • Travels and attends conferences, recruitment fairs, and other events to increase retention of current students and recruitment of prospective students through networking and tabling.
  • Manages ongoing strategic communication and programming with designated institutions and prospective students through EMP software, utilizing data to track recruitment efforts and return on investment for those efforts.
  • Co-manages respective programs through strategic planning of program growth, lead pipeline development (e.g. MSBS to COM, RVU Student Ambassadors).
  • Provides input to the development of recruitment strategies, especially for underrepresented and underserved populations, and participates in targeted and broad recruitment activities.
  • Plans and oversees informational meetings or programs designed to promote admission for post graduate medical school and other post grad level health profession programs.
  • Plans and hosts on- and off-campus events geared towards establishing connections with the community, other institutions, and prospective students furthering the RVU mission.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects.
  • Supports and attends activities of the Admissions/Student Services department with duties as assigned including but not limited to Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, and Commencement.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours including some evenings and weekends. Travel is required for this position which can occasionally be extensive.
  • Knowledge of best practices in higher education admissions.
  • Ability to work with confidential material with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.
  • Ability to represent the department and the university in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated intermediate computer skills in Microsoft and other software programs.
  • Demonstrated effective time management skill and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing equity, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience with supporting, recruiting, and/or advising students at the undergraduate, professional, and/or graduate levels.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Previous successful professional level experience as an Admissions Counselor or similar role in post graduate Medical Education field, Health Professions field, or relevant work experience
  • Event planning and management experience
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g. Jenzabar, WebAdmit, EMP, etc.)
