Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor- Research at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Conduct research leading to the discovery of new knowledge.
Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Formulate and submit research grant proposals to support your independent research.
Collaborate with other scientists to conduct team based research activities.
Present your research at local, national and international meetings.
Train students and technicians in laboratory procedures.
Participate in service to the department, school, university and professional community.
Teaching within the department and elsewhere may become available should you choose to accept these opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

Ph.D. is required.
Rank commensurate with credentials.

Experience:

6+ years of lab experience in neural control of cardiovascular function

Specific experience in surgical preparation of large animal for long term chronic instrumentation studies
Experience in heart failure studies is required.
