Position Summary:
The University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, invites applications for a one-year, full-time Temporary Lecturer of German and/or Spanish, in the School of Global Studies for the 2023-24 academic year. The department seeks a dynamic and collaborative faculty member to teach German and/or Spanish language courses. The successful candidate will be academically prepared and professionally qualified for a 4/4 teaching load.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • M.A. in Foreign Language Pedagogy, German, Spanish, Second-Language Acquisition and/or Applied Linguistics;
  • Native/near native fluency in English, German and Spanish;
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching German or Spanish on the post-secondary level;
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology in communications, assessment, teaching, and learning.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Foreign Language Pedagogy, German, Spanish, Second-Language Acquisition and/or Applied Linguistics;
  • Background of travel, work, study and/or residence in a German- or Spanish-speaking region.
