The West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics, seeks a primary care physician for the sports medicine division qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank.
The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of primary care sports medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents.

Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidates must be board certified / eligible in internal medicine or family medicine, and must have completed a sports medicine fellowship. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

West Virginia University Medicine's Sports Medicine Center provides comprehensive care for college, non-professional, and recreational athletes. Our physicians have expertise evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries using a wide variety of rehabilitative techniques. Not only do we manage injuries and medical conditions in athletes and performers, including muscle and joint pain, sprains, and concussions, but we treat and help manage illnesses, such as asthma and diabetes, that can hinder performance. We also provide evaluations for clearing athletes to return to their sport following illness or injury.

Our Department of Orthopaedics has approximately 40 full time faculty in all sub-specialty areas of Orthopaedics, including spine, total joint replacement, sports medicine, foot and ankle, hand, pediatrics, trauma, musculoskeletal oncology, and basic science. Our faculty are fellowship trained and respected nationally, but we emphasize more than surgical expertise - our mission is to provide excellence in patient care and customer service in the delivery of that care. As a part of a major academic teaching center, we use a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and education of our patients. Our physicians have easy access to a full range of specialists. Our spine practice is tertiary care for the entire state and surrounding regions, presenting as complex deformity, degenerative, traumatic, infectious, and neoplastic disorders.
