Position Summary

The Admissions Services Specialist provides admissions information to prospective students, their families, and community members on behalf of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment at PCC.
As a part of the Admissions and Recruitment team, this position shares information related to PCC admissions programs and processes, helps students through their initial steps of becoming admitted to the college/programs, and assists with troubleshooting any issues that occur in that process.

While communications will primarily occur via email and phone, occasional face-to-face interactions will occur. Delivering these services at in-person and virtual admissions events may also be required.
Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in working with diverse students from a variety of backgrounds, have strong customer service and organizational skills, and are able to research and share information in an accurate and timely manner.

The duties of this position can be completed in either a remote or in-person environment where confidentiality of student information can be upheld. Occasional visits to PCC campuses may be required for necessary trainings or event staffing. A work-location agreement can be established with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment. Work is typically performed M-F; between the hours of 8:00-5:00pm

  • Strong customer service skills both verbally (in person and over the phone) and in written form (email) (i.e. being able to to help prospective students/community members find information or resolve PCC-related issues with kindness)
  • The ability to work and communicate with diverse communities of varying ethnic/racial backgrounds, education, ability, sexual orientation, languages, socio-economic statuses, etc.
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot issues, problem-solve,research and share information based on questions asked
  • The ability to keep information, events, deadlines, and tasks well-organized
    Can work independently and also work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to use various technologies, including: general business software such as the Google suite, Zoom/teleconferencing applications, student information systems or databases, document management software
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

High school diploma or equivalent supplemented with two terms of college level course work emphasizing the area of business technology or other related office occupations curriculum. Six months of relevant experience may substitute for the college level course work. Two years of office support experience or one year of experience in a student services environment with considerable public contact is required.

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $38,923 to $40,091 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume depending on the time in the term. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of light weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding and/or ten-key functions.
