RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY FACULTY POSITION
WEST VIRGINIA – Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center West Virginia University
School of Dentistry – Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Restorative Dentistry
West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, WV is seeking applications for a full-time clinical track or tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Determination of faculty salary and academic rank is within the purview of the Dean and Faculty Evaluation Committee and will be commensurate with qualifications. The Department includes the disciplines of operative dentistry, prosthodontics (fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics), and dental materials. West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Campus includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest and has been named one of the best small cities in the U.S.
Responsibilities will include oversight of pre- and post-doctoral didactic and clinical teaching in restorative dentistry, high quality scholarly activity, service-related activities, and a faculty practice. The successful candidate may serve as Senior Clinic Supervisor and course director for other courses as assigned.
Qualifications :
The following required qualifications must be met by the time of appointment:
- DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent degree.
- Eligibility to obtain a West Virginia dental license. Please visit the West Virginia Board of Dentistry for information regarding licensure.
- Current BLS certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
- Candidates interested in the tenure-track position must show an active record of scholarly activity, and the pursuit of scholarly activity is expected.
- Applicants should have expertise in Prosthodontics and/or Restorative Dentistry.
- The successful candidate will have a history of documented competence in clinical practice, teaching, administration, and demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with digital technologies such as CAD/CAM and restorative digital workflows is highly recommended.
- Experience in curriculum development and revision is preferred.

- To be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level, candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarly activity, service, and experience in dental education.
