Loyola University Maryland (LUM) invites applications for an instructor committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching to join the Department of Biology at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to begin in August 2023. A master's in biology or a closely related field is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. The candidate will teach introductory courses in Cell and Molecular biology and Ecology and Evolution for majors; development of an upper-level course in the candidate's area of specialization is also possible. Teaching load will be 4 lectures or labs in fall and the equivalent in spring, with no required summer teaching. The candidate will assist the department in curricular development, assessment, and advising as well as contribute to the educational mission of Loyola University Maryland. The successful candidate should possess an awareness of and interest in high impact practices in line with the mission of Jesuit higher education.
