About the Opportunity
The Department of Health Sciences within the Bouve College of Health Sciences is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director to join our team and take a leadership role in all aspects of our innovative research studies on alcohol use and other addictive behaviors, sexual health behavior and HIV prevention. Our research addresses the etiology of addictive and sexual risk behaviors along with new interventions to ameliorate these behaviors, particularly technology-based interventions.
The Program Director will oversee on a day-to-day basis all research activities in the Ethanol, Drug and Gambling Experimental (EDGE) Lab at Northeastern, directed by Dr. Robert Leeman, Professor/Chair in the Department of Health Sciences. Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Managing several research studies, training activities,
collaboration across Northeastern and with colleagues at other
universities.
- Critical leadership role which will independently direct and
assist in all operational and administrative aspects of the
research program, including student engagement, and
supervision.
- Responsible for program development and implementation, and
oversight of all intellectual events including lectures, and
seminars.
- Contribute to the management of all budgetary and non-budgetary
research related activities.
Collaborate with the Lab Director to develop and maintain key community partnerships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or public health, or related
field required, master's degree preferred
- A minimum of 7 years of related research experience. Previous
supervisor experience required.
- Previous experience with project management, budget, training,
and facilitating meetings Experience supervising and leading
training for students is required.
- Extensive experience with tasks interfacing with the
Institutional Review Board (IRB) required. These include preparing
new proposals; modifying existing protocols, consent forms and
other documents; and annual renewals. Experience with multi-site
IRB activities preferred.
- Experience with developing and maintaining clinicaltrials.gov
and open science entries preferred
