Business Services Coordinator (Database & Matching Gift Coordinator)

Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position will serve as the Database & Matching Gift Coordinator, and will be responsible for the oversight of the matching gift program, a component of fund development. This position entails communicating with individual donors to ensure knowledge about the possibility of matching gifts, as well as maintaining and updating appropriate information on the website and within relevant marketing materials. This position is responsible for the management and coordination of all matching gift programs and related correspondence. The position will oversees all communication with donors and companies for securing, recording, and receipting matching gifts for NCCU. The coordinator will create monthly matching gift reports for management to track/reconcile matching gift claims and payments.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess:
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel (Blackbaud, Salesforce)) and other computer applications
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and SQL
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • To take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion
  • To learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions
  • To exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving
  • To plan, prioritize and organize workflow
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment
