Position Summary

This is a temporary position which will end when funding or hours are exhausted. Employees in this position perform a variety of duties as assigned by their supervisor.

*Position provides administrative and academic support to faculty and program coordinators in DSMT, and the Division Chair.
*Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service to faculty, students, staff, and the general public through phone conversations, written communication, face to face contact, answering questions and providing direction.
*Coordinate the online adoption process for all course material for Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology programs. Serve as the liaison between publishing companies, Follett’s Bookstore, and DSMT .
*Order course books for Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology faculty.
*Update and maintain DSMT syllabi by term, including updating CAS “College Shared Network Drive.”
*In conjunction with the Division Chair and the Academic program coordinators, establish term-by-term and yearlong schedules for the Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics programs. Input initial academic year schedule in Colleague, update corrections and additions by semester timelines, suggest changes to schedule (i.e., low enrollment classes, requiring cancellation, or conversion to tutorial in low enrollment classes, increased capacity of high demand classes, class times, room assignments etc.).
*Guide and assist students filling out forms for graduate research projects, independent study, graduate capstone forms, process, and procedures.
*Create sections for specialized/permission only course(s), authorize students so they may register, inform student via e-mail information to register.
*Schedule rooms in 25Live for meetings and events as necessary.
*Process mail, print shop orders, facilities requests, and other similar tasks.
*Maintain office supplies and faculty support materials.
*Submit requests for building-related services and concerns to Facilities Development and Management ( FDM ).
*Other general office support as necessary
  • The hourly rate of pay is $17.98
  • Work Schedule: Flexible hours between M-F 8:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Computer proficiency in Windows environment appropriate to position.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2. Experience in education settings, higher education, or scientific industry preferred.
3. Experience with Colleague preferred.
4. Understanding of organization-related issues.
5. Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
6. Ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work.
7. Mature, professional attitude and appearance.
8. Openness to continuing learning and upgrading skills.
