Job Description
IDS403: iLaunchPad: The intended audience for this course consists of students who are serious about launching a company and understand the rigor, sacrifice, and force of will required to make it happen. Students work with mentors and coaches to develop and deploy a for-profit or nonprofit venture.
After taking this course, students will be able to:
· Identify your entrepreneurial mission, vision, and understand why you are doing this.
· Develop core technologies, proof of concept, or prototype of a product or service
· Generate revenue or strategies for obtaining financing for their business
· Develop a viable economic model for your business, or multiple viable models.
· Analyze the various capital sources available and develop a plan based on your unique business concept.
· Participate in campus wide business plan and idea competitions as an initial capital raising tactic.
This is an online course, but in-person events such as workshops, guest speakers, and business plan competitions will also be set up.
Qualifications
MBA preferred, or degree in public relations and communications, with experience in risk management, business development, corporate finance, and project management and finance.

Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be prepared to serve as instructor and mentor and be willing to work with the Professor of Record and other instructors teaching this class. This course has a developed syllabus, exercises, and texts, however, we seek individuals who can bring their own experiences to the course.
• Collaborate with professor of record and/or program director, who is responsible for creating the course syllabus and course content, as well as providing an overview of their overall vision for the course.
• Attend onboarding and training with the iSchool’s Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning ( FCTL )
• Maintain office hours and open communication with students.
• Maintain the course in the Blackboard Learning Management system
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner; provide feedback when appropriate.
• Prepare for weekly in-person sessions with students
• Prepare to offer the class in the Fall 2023 semester
