Position Summary
An exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available in the lab of Dr. Charlotte Lindqvist in the Department of Biological Sciences , University at Buffalo. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in Paleogenomics as part of a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative project funded by a new 4-year National Science Foundation Understanding the Rules of Life – Emergent Networks award. The project will study Late Pleistocene-Holocene climate change and ecological change during rapid warming events in Southeast Alaska, and the project team comprises biologists and geologists at the University at Buffalo with cross-disciplinary expertise in evolutionary biology, paleogenomics, ecology, geology, and paleoclimatology. - Fieldwork and processing of lake core sediment samples (sedimentary ancient DNA ) collected from Southeast Alaska
- Ancient DNA data generation and analyses from sediments and subfossils
- Involvement with age-depth modeling of lake sediment cores and pollen analysis
- Mentoring of students and course planning
- Project coordination and outreach

Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in evolutionary biology, or related field
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
- Experience with ancient DNA research
- Record of productivity (peer-reviewed publications) in areas relevant to the research
- Proficiency in genome-scale data analysis, computer programming, bioinformatics, and/or statistics
- Interest in working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment
Salary Range
$55,000 - $58,000
