Overview
The purpose of the SDSU Annual Giving programs within SDSU Alumni is to demonstrably grow the base of engaged alumni as measured by volunteerism, alumni membership and number of annual donors. It also incorporates the mission of the SDSU Alumni Office, which is to foster a lifetime relationship between alumni and the university.


Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Annual Giving, the SDSU Annual Giving Engagement Officer is responsible for developing the student, alumni and parent donor community building and progressing philanthropy for SDSU.

The SDSU Annual Giving Engagement Officer position is a 15 hour a week commitment to work on campus and remotely, on an “as needed” basis. Working hours are between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. which is contingent on the student’s schedule with occasional work opportunities on evenings and weekends.

Solicitation - 60%
  • Email, call and text SDSU alumni, parents and prospects to solicit donations for priority initiatives.
  • Steward SDSU alumni, parents and prospects through video, email, call, text, events and social media.
  • Create Crowdfunding Campaigns for campus partners, to include on campus/zoom meetings with student groups and organizations


  • Fundraising - 15%
  • Assist in developing fundraising concepts, mock-ups and briefs for annual donor campaigns to include acquisition and renewals.
  • Assist in developing copy, images, multimedia projects, emails and texts that are directly targeted to student, alumni and parent segments.
  • Review email and direct mail proofs for accuracy.
  • Assist in deploying emails and texts and calling on behalf of campus-wide fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist with video and photo shoots for fundraising initiatives.


  • Engagement - 20%
  • Assist with SDSU Alumni and Aztec Proud events during New Student Orientation, Move-In Day, GradFest, etc.
  • Promote and explain Aztec Proud and SDSU Alumni programs to students during events.
  • Connect with other student groups on campus in support of their philanthropic initiatives
  • Participate in the planning and endorsement of various service project opportunities on campus
  • Responsible for donation transactions, proper cash handling, program fees, gift giveaways and organizational projects as assigned.


  • Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at SDSU
