Job Summary
The University of Michigan seeks applicants for a full-time LEO Lecturer IV position based in Ann Arbor. The appointment is subject to final approval by the College.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate for this position will have a 3-2 teaching load, consisting of introductory and intermediate Yiddish language and an additional content course in literature, culture, and/or linguistics. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for administrative duties, which includes: conducting internal and external outreach aimed at the recruitment of students; enhancing Yiddish language pedagogy in accordance with best practices; and developing new Yiddish language curricula, methods of assessment, and metrics of proficiency. Outreach activities include administering extra-curricular opportunities for Yiddish enrichment, such as the existing weekly Yiddish reading group; developing additional enrichment activities, such as Yiddish table; and conducting recruitment activities on campus and beyond.
Required Qualifications
Qualified applicants should have at least an M.A. in Linguistics, Pedagogy, Yiddish or related and fluency in the Yiddish language.
