Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics starting in the Fall of 2023. Major responsibilities include teaching, development of curriculum, undergraduate advising, and university service.

The ideal candidate will have a proven teaching record and evidence of effective teaching in small classes. The typical teaching load for a full-time instructor is 4 courses per semester. Beyond teaching, the position requires mentorship of undergraduate students and advising of students for preparation of immediate entry into the workforce or graduate school. Minimum of a M.S. in Mathematics or related field is required, preferred candidates will hold a PhD. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in statistics, data analytics, and/or computer science. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
