Position Function

Coordinate programs and services for students, alumni and faculty in selected academic departments and liaison with departments; coordinate career planning and job search programs and activities; provide career advising services and educational programs for students and alumni through individual appointments and group presentations and discussion; support employer development and recruitment activities.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related area from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience

One year of related experience.

Minimum Other

Experience with MS Office; ability to use technology to seek information; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to utilize time management, planning and leadership skills to meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment.

Preferred Experience

One year of experience in higher education setting such as career services, counseling, academic advising, residence life, or admissions or in a related/transferable professional work experience outside of higher education.

Preferred Other

Familiarity with career planning and employment and with career development theory; program development, management and presentation delivery; supervisory experience.

Pre-Employment Screening

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Serve as a liaison to and provide career development and job search services for students, alumni and faculty in assigned colleges developing and presenting career development and job search programs and information.

Serve as a liaison to internship coordinators and other University departments as assigned.

Serve as a member of the Program and Coaching Team to plan and implement departmental programs; assess learning outcomes.

Assign and review work, orient and train students and graduate assistants and make recommendations in all areas related to supervision, including but not limited to interviewing and selection, compensation, discipline, performance appraisal, and training and career development of personnel.

Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the professional staff to manage programming, services, calendars, policies and procedures and other administrative details required by the Career Center.
