EMPLOYMENT TERMS:                 9-month, tenure track position

 

 

PRIMARY DUTY: A tenure-track faculty position in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with the expectation to teach summer courses, when needed, for additional compensation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Broad background in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, or Computer Science with the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in data analysis, cybersecurity, object-oriented programming, networking and security, systems analysis and design, database principles, and various other special topics in the field Participate in the School activities including curriculum development and service activities Conduct applied research in these areas Work as a team on teaching and School activities Deliver courses in traditional, as well as blended and online formats Perform other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

        Education: Doctoral degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; ABD candidates will be considered   

        Experience: Two years of experience teaching in higher education at a regionally accredited institution

        Skills: Ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses within the School, along with the ability to conduce requisite research and service consistent with University practices         
 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical classroom and office conditions with student focused office hours required; course management system supplementing face-to-face classes and online courses are also required             

 

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Canvas Learning Management Systems, Interactive SMART Boards, iPads, laptop computers, document cameras, and emerging technologies

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete classroom functions and lift up to 20 pounds

SCHOOL: The School of Computer Science and Information Systems has approximately 270 undergraduate majors, 200 graduate students and 18 full-time faculty members with seven comprehensive undergraduate programs: Business Education, Business Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science with an emphasis in Computer Science, Digital Media – Computer Science, and Management Information Systems. There are two graduate programs: M.S. Applied Computer Science and M.S. Information Systems. Courses are taught in a variety of formats, encouraging an active learning instructional paradigm.
